Welcome! My name is Ruth — the photographer behind Wild Talons. I create natural, connection‑focused images of pets, families, and couples. I also offer photography lessons, Occupational Therapy photography programs, and fine‑art prints inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of our region.
Pet Photography
I offer heartfelt photography experiences that reflect the personality of your cherished pet. Whether we’re deep in the forest, by the gentle waves of the beach, or in the calm of my studio, every setting is chosen with care.
Pets with their families are a specialty of mine, capturing the quiet bond between people and animals. It’s more than just the final images — it’s about playful moments, genuine connection, and memories made during the session itself.
I also photograph dog agility, horse competitions, and pet-friendly events, celebrating the energy, skill, and joy of animals in motion.
Family and couples Photography
Capture the moments that matter most. My family and couples sessions are relaxed, natural, and all about genuine connection. Whether it’s a playful afternoon with the kids, a quiet moment between partners, or a milestone worth celebrating, I create images that feel real, warm, and uniquely yours.
I work on‑location in beautiful outdoor settings around Port Macquarie, using natural light and gentle direction to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera. No stiff poses, just authentic moments and memories you’ll love looking back on.
Photography Lessons
Have a new camera and want to get the most out of it? Looking for a new hobby that gets you outdoors, learning new skills, and connecting with others? My creative photography lessons are fun, relaxed, and designed to help you build confidence behind the lens.
Whether you’re just starting out or wanting to refine your technique, I’ll guide you through camera settings, composition, lighting, and creative expression in a supportive, easy‑to‑understand way.
Occupational Therapy Photography Program
I run Occupational Therapy photography programs specifically designed for neurodivergent children and adults. These sessions use photography as a therapy tool to support areas such as sensory and emotional regulation, social participation, executive functioning, confidence building, and community engagement.
Programs include individualised goal‑setting and outcome measures, and can be funded under NDIS Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living.
Wildlife & Landscape Prints
In my spare time I love exploring landscape and wildlife photography. If you would like prints of any photographs in my "nature and beyond" gallery below, or on my Facebook/intagram page, please get in touch at ruth@wildtalons.com.au.
